Visitors to Plantation Village will see what life was like on a Hawaiian sugar plantation during their heyday. The early 1900’s is the time period represented at the open-air Museum, and visitors can meander through the grounds and see 25 buildings including houses, the plantation store, the manager’s office and the community bathhouse. Houses for different ethnic groups are represented showing the disparity from group to group.

This look at a fascinating time in Hawaii’s history doesn’t stop with the buildings. Also on display are hundreds of artifacts including clothing, furniture artwork, and a variety of items used in daily plantation life.
A lovely botanical garden is also on the grounds of Plantation Village and access to the garden is included with admission. Guided tours are available on the hour while the Museum is open. If you have a group of 8 or more, it is a good idea to make a reservation in advance. Tours are available in English and Japanese.
