Honolulu, HI (September 16, 2016) — cSpada Bar & Restaurant, a Waikiki Italian fusion bistro located within the Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach, will curate the wine tasting menu for the event, which is sure to be another memorable event for those who appreciate the harmonious pairing of fine art and palatable wines.
Darby Roeder is a talented artist who works with mainly acrylic and watercolor to create works of art centered on the beauty of nature and wildlife. Darby takes an abstract approach in her paintings, using intricate patterns to produce simple yet elegant pieces that are pleasing to the eye. Her use of watercolor and acrylics enhances her work, adding color and vibrancy to each of her art pieces. Her recent work consists of paintings of delicate coral found in Hawaii’s oceans and wildlife such as the humpback whale and jellyfish. Most of Darby’s work is done freehand, and her ability to work with canvas, drywall, scrap wood or balsam panels demonstrates her flexibility as an artist. Darby’s work can be found and purchased on her Etsy page.
A wide selection of wines, provided by Spada Bar & Restaurant, will be available for $20 per 6 tastings. Some of the wines to be featured on the tasting menu include a Pinot Noir from the Tapihue region of Chile, a Cabernet from California’s central coast, and a flavorful Chardonnay from the vineyards of Sonoma, California. The Root: 1 Pinot Noir of Casablanca Valley, Chile, is a medium-bodied wine characterized by notes of ripe cherry and silky tannins. The Smith & Hook Cabernet Sauvignon of California’s Central Coast boasts notes of rich plum, blackberry and spices that make for a deep flavor profile with a generous finish. The Alexander Valley Vineyards Estate Chardonnay will also be featured, with tastes and aromas that hint of fresh pear, vanilla and toasted oak. In addition to these three wine selections, exclusive and unique bottles from Spada Bar and Restaurant’s private collection will be available at the art show as well.
The art show is a must for both wine and art lovers alike, and the recently transformed Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach is the perfect location to enjoy this stylish event.
