Honolulu, HI (October 14, 2016) — Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach will feature artist Miriam Zora at the upcoming Art & Wine Show on Thursday, October 27, from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki’s very own Italian-fusion bistro, Spada Bar & Restaurant, will also be offering a tasting menu of specially curated wines from various regions for the event.
“The Art & Wine Show has been such a great success at Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach that we have made it a recurring event here — and we are happy to see so many people enjoying the works of original artists while enjoying the flavorful wine selection provided by Spada Bar & Restaurant,” remarked Henry Perez, General Manager of Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach. “Miriam Zora is truly a talented artist and we are delighted at the opportunity to showcase her work for the evening.”
Miriam Zora attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, earning both a BFA in Painting and Drawing, as well as a BA in Visual and Critical Studies. Zora has since received many accolades for her work, including a prestigious merit scholarship in 2014 to attend a painting program at the Oxbow School of Art and a feature in the Temporis Opus exhibition at the Dacia Gallery in New York, New York. Zora uses a variety of mediums in her work, including watercolor, oil and gouache. Working with bright, vibrant colors, the young artist plays with perception to create unique and eye-catching works of art that are aesthetically pleasing to the eye. In recent years, the multitalented artist has expanded her creative abilities with forays into the world of fashion design, dyeing clothes using naturally made pigment dyes and creating stencils to produce imaginative graphics on t-shirts and tank tops. Zora currently lives and works in Makaha, Hawaii. For more information and purchasing options, please visit her websites at https://www.etsy.com/shop/MiriamZora or http://www.miriamzoraengel.com.
Spada Bar & Restaurant has created a special wine tasting menu for the event, which will be available to attendees. Some of the wines that will be featured on the tasting menu are: a Pinot Noir from the Tapihue region of Chile, a Cabernet from California’s Central Coast, and a flavorful Chardonnay from the vineyards of Sonoma, California. The Root: 1 Pinot Noir of Casablanca Valley, Chile, is a medium-bodied wine characterized by notes of ripe cherry and silky tannins. The Smith & Hook Cabernet Sauvignon of California’s Central Coast boasts notes of rich plum, blackberry and spices that make for a deep flavor profile with a generous finish. The Alexander Valley
Vineyards Estate Chardonnay will also be featured, with tastes and aromas that hint of fresh pear, vanilla and toasted oak. In addition to these three wine selections, an exclusive and unique selection of wines from Spada Bar and Restaurant’s private collection will be available at the art show as well.
Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach recently underwent a $20 million dollar renovation, which was completed earlier this year. The revitalization included all 403 rooms — including 99 suites — as well as updates to the building’s exterior, lobby bar and lanais. The rooms now feature contemporary wood furnishings in dark ebony atop richly decorative carpeting, suffused in a soft teal and sea-foam color scheme. The upgrades enhance the hotel’s distinct “Island Chic” character while giving it a fresh, new look. Featured events like the Art & Wine Show are just one of the many perks of staying at the Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach, with other luxuries and conveniences — including a spa, garden pool, coffee shop, on-site restaurant and concierge services desk — available for guests to use and enjoy.
